XboxWorld Australia

XboxWorld Australia was one of the earliest websites to start reviewing only Xbox games in Australia.

I joined the forum very early on, and became a regular contributor from 2003, writing for the site until 2018.

A selection of my XboxWorld articles is found below.

NOTE: Some articles were used across the sites I wrote for, and are tagged appropriately, but apologies for any duplicates.

DISCLAIMER: I used to work in Video Games, and did so whilst writing for XboxWorld Australia, but at no time did I review any game I directly worked on.

The full list of articles can be found here.

  • Dr Muto - I don’t often play platform games. Last time I played one was Abe’s Odyssey on PC about 2 years ago. I’ve played the demo of Blinx, and Whacked, and a couple of games on PS2 a while ago, but that’s about it. So I’ve got a very limited view of what I can compare this game to. Having said that, Dr Muto is an incredibly fun and humorous game that has enough variety in it to have you wanting to keep playing.
  • Magic The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers - Wizards of the Coast have tried to capture the hearts, minds and wallets of Magic the Gathering Xbox fans before, with Magic the Gathering: Battlefields. Whilst it was an interesting game, it didn't really translate the actual skills, knowledge and indeed obsession that the collectable card game requires.
  • Assassin’s Creed III - Returning to the Animus for the 5th time (not counting the spinoffs) Ubisoft Assassin's Creed III forsakes the Old Continent of Altair and Ezio for the shiny new continent of America during its formative years. Once again we are thrust Forest Gump Like into the world of Templars and Assassins and Precursors, where every major personality and event is somehow influenced by these shadowy organisations and in particular, your main character. Like all things American, this time it is bigger, brasher, and more in your face than ever before.
  • Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 - With PES 2012 it appears that Konami have given up trying to fight EA and FIFA in the fight for dominance of the soccer simulation market. In every way, PES is the lesser game now.
  • Assassin’s Creed II - Assassin’s Creed II stabs you right in the feels, improving on the original in every sense, cementing a series that will be a staple for Ubisoft for years to come.
